School-to-Career as a local community initiative is coordinated and implemented through State-funded local school-to-career partnerships. Comprised of education, employer, labor, parent, and community leaders, these partnerships are the catalyst to supporting effective school-to-career practices in schools and building opportunities for students and teachers to learn skills and applications of academics in a real-world context. We also try to support our students with their desired research and help with the provision of all the necessary materials from our partner - a company that provides writing services. We also fulfill requests to revise my essay or any other requests for all students. BaySCAN now supports an expanded network of local school-to-career partnerships across fourteen Northern California counties.
While implementation strategies may vary, local partnerships share common challenges and resource constraints. Through BaySCAN, local partnerships are able to develop a regional infrastructure to support school-to-career and overcome challenges by sharing experiences and leveraging resources. We accomplish this through four main activity areas:
- Industry-Focused Learning Collaboratives
- Employer Engagement
- Marketing and Communications
- Building Policy Support
Through BaySCAN and partner New Ways Workers, we convene the monthly Local Partnership School-to-Career Director's Forum. This forum helps colleagues share issues and practices, and supports the cohesive, systematic effort needed to develop common initiatives across the region. BaySCAN further strengthens the work of local school-to-career partnerships by connecting them to State and National initiatives seeking to improve education through school-to-career.
