Mt. Diablo High School
Digital Safari
Students in Mount Diablo's Digital Safari have won awards for multimedia excellence. The program is open to all, and there are currently 110 students enrolled. The population of the program purposefully reflects the population of the school, which has a high minority enrollment. The students work in teams of 4 or 5, much like workgroups in multimedia corporations. Each multimedia project incorporates four content areas. Usually one are is the main focus and the others are integrated as much as possible. The day is structured such that the students get a four-hour block of history, English, physical science, and multimedia.
In addition to numerous student awards, Digital Safari CD-ROMs have been used by Apple Computer and Macromedia, Inc.
