Multimedia
Learning Collaborative
Overview
The Bay Area has quickly become a major multimedia industry center. Career opportunities in multimedia are growing and ever changing. Established and emerging multimedia design and production companies can be found all over the Bay Region, as can companies that create and distribute the technology that enables multimedia professionals to be successful. Students who gain skills necessary to enter careers in this exciting and fast-moving industry will be in high demand.
Activities of the Multimedia Learning Collaborative include:
- Establishing, expanding and connecting multimedia design and production programs
- Creating a broad range of School-to-Career activities to motivate students and encourage continued learning in post-secondary programs
- Fostering collaborative design efforts between students, teachers and other participants across a range of multimedia products and services
- Organizing extensive professional development that takes into account needs to learn technology and needs to develop effective teaching practices
- Facilitating mentoring relationships and linking resources
- Building awareness of the bilateral needs of industry and education and designing complementary ways of working together.
